You must create an A record for server1.webpapagedirect.co.za.

A record has been set at DNS

Does this also have to be done at my registrar

Hi Falko I sent you my mail log a while ago then you asked me to post my problem here

    A
    Code:
    dig webpapagedirect.co.za
shows that ns0.coza.net.za is the authoritative nameserver for your domain. That's where you must create the DNS records.

    More problems

Have informed my the nameserver for webpagedirect.co.za still waiting for them to get back to me.

No for domain ehs.org.za I get the following error:

    The Postfix program

<[email protected]>: mail for ehs.org.za loops back to myself
    ******************************************************
And for domain zululand-adventures.com I cant log into the pop3.zululand-adventures.com with the users username and password, but can log into pop3.webpagedirect.co.za with username and password from zululand-adventures.com

Put ehs.org.za at the end of /etc/postfix/local-host-names (where it says that you can make changes there) and restart Postfix.

Can you explain this in more detail?

    no error message

Now I'mstill not receiving on ehs.org.za and when sending from external no longer getting an error message. nothing comes back

on the domain zululand-adventures.com keeps asking for username and password, but when I change my incoming server from pop3.zululand-adventures.com to pop3.webpagedirect.co.za and keep username for zululand adventures domain I can log into the server ,but don't receive any mail.

Which POP3 server do you use? Please post the output of
    Code:
    netstat -tap
Is Maildir enabled or disabled under Management -> Server -> Settings -> Email (I guess you have installed ISPConfig)?

That's strange because all 3 FQDNs (zululand-adventures.com, pop3.zululand-adventures.com and pop3.webpagedirect.co.za) point to the same IP address. Do you see anything in the mail log about this?

What does your mydestination line look like in /etc/postfix/main.cf? It should be
    Code:
    mydestination = /etc/postfix/local-host-names
You're using Courier as POP3 server which means you must enable Maildir in ISPConfig (if you use ISPConfig).

    no change still same errors

mydestination line is as you said it should be

when sending fro domain not hosted on the server I get a message stating mail loops back to myself for ehs.org.za domain

Am I correct in assuming that for each domain I set up the server automatically creates pop3.domain.lll and smtp.domain.lll or do you still have to create these in the co-domains area

Yes I am using ISP config and maildir is ticked on

Thanks for having the patience to help me through this

Sorry was a bit hasty when sending from domain not hosted on my server *@ehs.org.za I get the following

    <[email protected]>:
    196.33.247.203 does not like recipient.
Remote host said: 550 <[email protected]>: Recipient address rejected: User unknown in local recipient table
    Giving up on 196.33.247.203.

but when I look in my virtusertable the address wasn't there so I added it and tried again still same error.

  15. falko

    falko Super Moderator ISPConfig Developer

No, you have to create these subdomains on the Co-Domains tab (and of course, you must create DNS records for these subdomains).

Did you create the email address [email protected] in ISPConfig?

If you want to add the email address manually instead of with ISPConfig, then you must run
    Code:
    postmap /etc/postfix/virtusertable
after you've added the email address to /etc/postfix/virtusertable and then restart Postfix.

    Think I've got it

    Okay

1: Deleted all users all in all domains within ISPConfig
    2: vi /etc/postfix/virtusertable
3: Removed all the Junk that I obviously added with all trying
4: did the same with /etc/postfix/local-host-names
    5: Recreated Domains
    6: Recreated Users
    7: Looked at files "/etc/postfix/virtusertable" & "/""/local-host- names"
They looked more like the ones posted online.

    Tried sending to external: Success

Tried sending from external domain to local domains:

    All now give same error:

This is the Postfix program at host server1.webpapagedirect.co.za.

Have you created an A-Record server1.webpapagedirect.co.za in the DNS-Server for webpapagedirect.co.za?

Otherwise you can try to add it to the hosts file on your server.

where would the "hosts" file be?

I registerred webpapagedirect.co.za at zoneedit so not to sure why I have to tel coza that they have to add server1.webpapagedirect.co.za to the DNS and I cant get throught to them. Their form is confusing and they're not the most helpfull.
