Perfect Etch set up, added ISPConfig (I think this is the server trather than ISPConfig). Each time I upload as the user with ftp, directories and files all have permissions 700. I have checked in /etc/profile, /etc/proftpd/proftpd.config and /etc/proftpd-ispconfig.conf - each has Umask 022 or 022 022 which I believe is as it should be. Any ideas, please? Obviously, what I'm looking for is directories to be set at 755 and files at 644 without me having to go in as root to change them
That's right. What permissions do the parent directories of the uploaded files have? Any errors in your logs?
