I've followed the The Perfect Setup - Ubuntu 6.06 LTS Server (Dapper Drake).

I would like to use the PCNTL module, but it's not installed.

    How do I enable this?

I've read I should recompile with --enable-pcntl form the start, but how do I add it to my existing php installation, without losing my configuration.

    Is there an easy way?

http://de2.php.net/manual/en/ref.pcntl.php says that you need the CGI or CLI version of PHP. Install one of these and then test one of the PCNTL functions to see if it's already included in PHP. If not, I think you must recompile.
