    Welcome to phpMyAdmin 2.11.8.1deb5

phpMyAdmin tried to connect to the MySQL server, and the server rejected the connection. You should check the host, username and password in your configuration and make sure that they correspond to the information given by the administrator of the MySQL server.
    Error

    MySQL said: Documentation
#1045 - Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: NO)
Invalid hostname for server 1. Please review your configuration.

how can I fix this ??

This is independant from ispconfig as phpmyadmin is from your linux distribution and is neither managed nor configured by ispconfig. Reconfigure your phpmyadmin to ask for a username and password instead of using the config data.

Does phpmyadmin come with ISP3? I have tried to access it from within the control panel but it does not work. Do I need to install it via RPM or compile the source?

    Thanks!

phpmyadmin is not part of ISPConfig. For installation instructions please see the perfect server guide for ispconfig 3.
