    Hi all,
i followed the Open SUSE 11.3 installation with ISP config 2 tutorial (great work btw)

so i have just purchased a domain name ....
but i was actually noob enough to type xyz.de and have been going to xyz.de:81 trying to log in

i have plugged my server into my ADSL at home and have no idea how to link my registered website to BIND (this also means i dont know my real IP adress, im assuming its not 192.168..etc) ... im very new to this gig

    thanks in advance

Do you know if you have a dynamic or a static external IP address?

unfortunately it is dynamic, however i think it changes once every hour or something, but i dont even know how to make it work for one hour

If a server is behind a dynamic IP then it is recommended to use a dynamic DNS service like dyndns. Running your own BIND DNS Server wil not work reliably with a dynamic IP address.

So the easiest solution will be to use a dndns service for the DNS records of your domain and just run the web and email services on your local server.
