I want to make postfix free so anyone can use it as SMTP server. Ive installed ispconfig but im only limited to use the smtpserver only for mail.mydomain.com. Is it possible to configure SMTP to be used by everyone any domain any host any ip. Tnx in advance Noob Here
Not quite sure if I understand you correctly, you want to configure your server so that everyone can use it to send emails trough your server or in other words you want to create a open relay server? Such servers will be misused for spamming within a few hours and then your IP address gets blocked by all major blacklists so none of your emails will arrive anymore. For that reasons all mail servers in the internet are password protected like your current setup is, you can send from your server to any domain and IP you want and you can connect from any IP after you authenticated yourself on the server with smtp-auth. Take a look at your email program, you just have to enable that.
Yes i want to create open relay server. And yes i perfectly understand the risks. I want people to use my server as smtp no matter if they have Gmail, yahoo mail or whatever. Can u help.
Poor idea: - your server will be killed in minutes/hours - your domain will be listed in spam botnets "forever" - I don't know where you are but probably you will be in troubles with the justice - You will send tons of illegal stuff every second. We fight spam/abuse here. This is just a criminal idea Cheers.
I was useing qmail for 7 years and now indimail for 1 year and im not black listed. I only allow 1 /19 class to access the smtp server i will not use it for the whole world i have blocked everything else with firewall. Im trying to switch to ispconfig but i cant make it work with sending mail from other domains. Will u help me or not? Im not doing anything illegal. I just try to let my users to be able to send mail. I have newer had problems with qmail or indimail, and im using them as open relay. Ill ask again. Is it possible for postfix to work like this?
Yes it can be done. In your main.cf set "smtpd_recipient_restrictions = permit" and "smtpd_delay_reject = yes". Restart postfix.. Say your prayer, and good luck! Looking forward to your next post about your mail not beeing received by other providers.
