hey i have a problem, my problem is this, i can connect to my mail server useing microsoft outlook and everything goes good in the connection and sync. of mail but when i try to send the mail to test that everything is working right i get an error reporting that relay access is denied to the recipient. can anyone help me get this working right?
ok so i just enabled "Server requires authentication." in Outlook but now i have a new problem, the server cant seem to authenticate the account it just asks for a user name and password.
Do you use the correct username and password? The username should look like web1_someuser or similar. Make sure you don't mix up email users and ISPConfig users (admin, resellers, clients).
yes i am useing the correct username, the problem has nothin to do with ISPConfig thats why it is under the Linux section instead of the ISPConfig section, the account i am useing is a real user account and not a virtual user account, it is the account i created when i install the OS onto the system. I looked into the log files to see if it would give me any ideas of what could be wrong because when i told outlook to use authentication it just asked me for my user name and password and wouldnt accept what i typed in, the log says it cant find saslauthd which i did install. might have to symlink only if i knew where the right file is
