Postfix Help

okays.

I know my postfix config works very well because when I install a fresh installation of postfix and ispconfig it doesnt hange for about approx 1:30 while recieving a message.


my question is.

why does it hang? is it normal? how do you fix it?

I have dns records with MX.

What's within your mail-log files?

Do you see any related error message within /var/log/mail.warn or /var/log/mail.log ?

 

no there is no related error message.

 

What's in /etc/resolv.conf?

 

search static.bycy.mi.charter.com
nameserver 24.247.24.53
nameserver 24.247.15.53



The top one is my hostname and the bottom 2 are my isp's dns servers.

 

Can you try

in /etc/resolv.conf instead?

whats the logic behind using those nameservers? so I know for future referance.

and where did you get those nameserver ips?

 

I guess the other nameservers you used before don't work or are down.

I don't remember where I found them, but they are nameservers from German ISPs.
