Hello, I use a postfwd plugin that is requesting 'copytruncate' for postfix log (eg syslog) in logrotate definition. I didn't see that in my server conf in /etc/logrotate.conf many thanks
Does reading the man page of logrotate help? It at least explains what copytruncate does. If that is not it, then I admit I do not understand what you are asking.
Sorry guys ! My question is missing... I wonder if having 'copytruncate' in /etc/logrotate.conf would be an issue for ispconfig ? Or, should I put that in /etc/logrotate.d/postfix... But this postfix log doesn't exist, so that, it means I should separate postfix log from syslog... and generate modification in postfwd that is using postfix log... I would like to avoid all that changes and prefer directly modify /etc/logrotate.conf...
I wouldn't expect it to affect ispconfig; I believe the only thing ispconfig does with mail logs is read them and write current entries into the database for display under the monitoring tab.
From what I just read from postfwd plugin readme, it does not say copytruncate must be used on postfix logs or syslog. From my reading it says copytruncate must be used for anti-spam logs, which I understand are the logs postfwd makes. I know nothing about postfwd and limited about of postfix. I would ask postfwd folks how to set it up.
