My setup will send email via gmail relay. Which I am not thrilled about but I am not sure how else to work around my ISP blocking port 25. So I can send emails but cannot receive any emails sent to my domains address. I have been reading and trying to remedy the problems I am seeing on the logs. There is one issue I cannot figure out. It could be normal but I don't think so. Jan 7 20:25:01 server1 postfix/smtpd[9113]: connect from localhost.localdomain[127.0.0.1] Jan 7 20:25:01 server1 postfix/smtpd[9113]: lost connection after CONNECT from localhost.localdomain[127.0.0.1] Jan 7 20:25:01 server1 postfix/smtpd[9113]: disconnect from localhost.localdomain[127.0.0.1] It repeats every 5 minutes or so. The rest of the connection methods look like they are working. Thanks, John
That's ISPConfig's monitoring module, trying to find out if the mail server is still working. Nothing to worry about.
Thanks for you reply. Well if that is normal something is still not right prevent me from receiving incoming mail. I have combed the logs and remedied would I could. Could you please advise me on my next step to troubleshoot this issue? Thanks, John
If port 25 is being blocked, there's not much you can do. You could direct your mails to another mail server and then fetch them with fetchmail or getmail.
