Hello, I have a mailserver setup with debian8 - perfect setup with ispconfig, in the outgoing mail header i see the following Received: from localhost (mail.example.org [127.0.0.1]) Received: from mail.example.org ([127.0.0.1]) by localhost (mail.example.org [127.0.0.1]) (amavisd-new, port 10026) is it a normal behavior? or can the localhost and 127.0.0.1 be removed, or replaced by the external IP and accordingly with the FQDN instead of localhost Regards
IP 127.0.0.1 is normal in headers. It means that postfix handed the email to amavis for scanning and probably you sent the email with a webmail client.
