I still have my mail server configurations in v3.2.2 format. I'd like to understand what happens with the Migration tool when it migrates the v3.2.2 settings into a v3.2.11 system. I assume for anything related to ISPConfig the mapping is correct and everything from the old format simply gets put into the new locations. I also have custom PostFix / Dovecot settings, and am concerned about what happens with those. Are custom config settings retrieved from Postfix and Dovecot, and incorporated into the data that is passed from the source system to target? If not, do we need to compare the mail server settings of a new target system with our existing custom configs, then copy those into the proper ISPConfig files? I need to go back to prior discussions on these topics to see exactly what the new files are and what they contain. I'm hoping the mail server migration is easier than this manual process. Thanks.
No. The Tool is made to import the mailboxes, mail domains etc. incl. mail data into a new ISPConfig system, it shall not copy over old config files. If you want to keep them, then you must do that. And I recommend making all changes update-afe right away by copying the relevant file templates to conf-custom or conf-custom/install/ folder.
