Prevent ssh users from moving up the directory tree

    Is there a way to prevent my ssh users from moving up the directory tree from $HOME?

    Yes you can with the use of JailKit

    There must be something wrong with my ISPConfig 3 setup. When I configure an ssh user with Jailkit the user can view the root document tree with

    cd /

    etc

    Not sure what to make of this reference.

    ... I forgot what version of JailKit I am using. I complied from source and deleted the install directory and tar file.

    I am confused from the link you gave if my problem is that the ssh daemon is not patch, I have to update ISPConfig, or is this a simple config file issue?

    I did note that the jailed directory has an empty passwd file. The jailkit website states:
