Hi I installed on Debian 3.1 using the HowTo. Unfortunately, I specified www as part of the URL and the install failed. I deleted the install_ispconfig directory and ran ./setup again but towards the end I get the errors specified below. I notice too that I wasn't prompted for as much information as the first install. Note that I did setup a password for the root user in mysql. How do I uninstall completely? Deleting the install_ispconfig directory doesn't seem to be sufficient. cp: cannot stat `/home/admispconfig/ispconfig/lib/config.inc.php': No such file or directory cp: cannot stat `/home/admispconfig/ispconfig/users': No such file or directory cp: cannot stat `/home/admispconfig/ispconfig/adminmail.txt': No such file or directory All prerequisites are fulfilled. Have you tried the steps falko posted above? You will have to remove the directories /homd/admispconfig, /root/ispconfig and install_ispconfig, unpack the installer again and run the setup script. The installer moves some files instaed of copying, so if you run the setup twice without removing the broken install first, the setup will fail.
Yes i have deleted /home/admispconfig, /root/ispconfig and install_ispconfig. I am using an edited copy of install_ispconfig for 64 bit which i keep on my desktop. Each time i try a fresh install i copy it to /hda6/root and log into shell as root and then ./setup and install starts OK Is this where i am going wrong?
Started fresh install Go to work for 10 hours, try to install ISPConfig 8 hours, sleep 6 hours, time spent with wife and kids 0 hours. Next day Go to work for 10 hours, try to install ISPConfig 8 hours, sleep 6 hours, time spent with wife and kids 0 hours etc.....etc.....etc.... I decided to reformat the hard drive and reinstall Suse 9.3 and then installed ISPConfig,WOW first time. I think that maybe i had tried to install ISPConfig so many times that it may have splintered off into other files and wasn`t deleted when i uninstalled .Anyhow everything is working fine at the moment thanks everybody for your help. Merry Christmas
I think i know where i went wrong. Installed Suse 9.3......OK. Installed ISPConfig......OK. Logged into ISPConfig....OK. Found Web server Offline. Uninstalled ISPConfig....OK. Later found Web server was offline because of an apache problem. Fixed apache......OK. started to install ISPConfig again after deleting all the necessary. Now this is where i think i went wrong. while ISPConfig was installing i opened another shell and started doing some other stuff. Could this cause ISPConfig to get fragmented? As i am new to Linux and not that familiar to working in command is this a big DO NOT?
Normally that is no problem as long as you do not change or modify files that are involved in operations done on the other console.
