    Hi guys!

I just noticed very strange behavour of mail-server. I will try to explain:

We host several domains, for example let it be domain1.com, domain2.com, domain3.com. All domains have different email addresses: [email protected], [email protected], [email protected]. So when someone sends email to [email protected] (note, this address does not exist) it will come to [email protected] inbox! When someone sends email to [email protected] it also comes to [email protected] inbox!

Why? What is wrong with configuration of my server? Here is my postfix config:

    Thanks falko!

But what should I use for mydomain in this case? Cause my main domain is mydomain.lv and we have many email addresses like [email protected] and I do not want to lose them.

You could rename your server, e.g. buy a "technical" domain that you use solely for the purpose of naming your servers, but not for web sites and email.

Oh... Sad. No other way? :( For me it's sounds so stupid to buy more domains to host mail server...

Well, you just need one domain for all your servers, and it doesn't cost the world.
You can then name your servers server1.example.com, server2.example.com, etc. No need to buy one extra domain per server.
