    Hi,

I followed a perfect install based on Ubuntu.
    Install ISPCONFIG ok.
    Install a website ok.
    Create a user ok.

If I send a mail to the user it seems ok.
But if I want to retrieve with telnet :
    +OK Hello there.
    USER web18_mylogin
    +OK Password required.
    PASS mypassword
-ERR Maildir: No such file or directory

    Any idea ?

    regards

Have you enabled Maildir in ISPConfig?

    Yes MailDir is activated.

Mail log when I send a mail to an email manage by ISPconfig:

Maildir is created when the first email for the user arrives. So if you pop a user that hasn't received any emails yet, then you get this error.

    OK nice to know.

But I send some mail to this user, and I always get this error.

I created a new user, send a mail to him, and try to connect to port 110. I got the same error.

    Regards

Can you try with an email client like Outlook or Thunderbird? Are you sure the password for the user web18_mylogin is correct?

    Hi,

I try with outlook before trying through telnet.

I'm sure that the password is ok.

    When I try with a real login/password :
-ERR Maildir: No such file or directory

    with bad login/pass :
    -ERR Login failed.

    Any ideas ?

    Regards,
    Alexandre

The login is ok, then, but Maildir doesn't exist yet. Maildir is created when the first email for the user arrives, so send an email to that user and try again.

I already send a mail on each mailbox.

I posted the log in a message before in this thread.

Did you enable Maildir in ISPConfig under Management -> Server -> Settings -> Email?

Please check twice that you activated Maildir in the settings, then create a new email user, send an email to this suer and try to fetch it with an email client like thunderbird or outlook.
