    Hi all,

Using ispconfig i ask local server to fetch mail from a remote pop server but no mail is coming.

    I used http://www.howtoforge.com/perfect-server-debian-lenny-ispconfig3.

I have full control over the remote mail server.

    Now:
    1. /etc/getmail in the local server is empty.
    2. mail.log: i see no log for the local server getting into the remote mail server.
    3. mail.err and mail.warn are empty
    4. dns records for the remote server working fine (i can pull mail using gmail)
    5. I do not see (in mail.log and in mail.info) that the local server logs in to the remote mail server to fetch the mail.
    6. i sent a message from the local mail to the remote mail. I can see the message at the vmail directory at the remote mail server.
    7. at dbispconfig (mysql table) on mail_get i see the appropriate data (the data installed with ispconfig interface).
    What went wrong?
    Thank you
    Menahem.

O.K, I run again /usr/local/ispconfig/server/scripts/update_from_tgz.sh and run again cron.
Mail from remote server came out as it was spouse to do.
    Till Flako:
Is it o.k that after any new cron job i have to run update_from_tgz.sh or is a bug.
    I am using ispconfig 3.0.2.1
    Thank you/

    1) Which ispconfog version?
    2) Any errpors in the system log in the ispconfig monitor?
    3) Any jobs left in the jobqueue in the monitor?

Thats neither a bug in ispconfig nor have you to run this script afer you created a new cronjob as this is not nescessary on any other system. It looks more that either cron was not started on your system.

    Hi Till
Thank you for the fast replay.
I do not know if the cron jobs was running on this server or not. It is up (without reboot) just from the last install line was sent so might be that the cron is not running. Later on i will be by the server and i will reboot it to make sure that the cron app is up and running.
Can i ask one more Q?
I puled out some mail marked with **spam** after some time it was gone from the Inbox but: some of it is not spam i sent it... where can i find the "lost" messages?

ISPConfig is not removing any messages from mailboxes, it is not even able to do this as this is a planned but not started feature. If emails got removed, then this was done by your email client. If they are recoverable or not depends on the mail client, you should check the mail client settings, e.g. if you enabled automatic cleanup of folders.
