Using Amazon Web Services (Ubuntu 11.10) AMI: ubuntu/images/ebs/ubuntu-oneiric-11.10-amd64-server-20120222 (ami-baba68d3) Here is my problem, how can I fix this? Attempt to start Quota Fstab Config Attempt to start Quota Kernel has quota Modprobe doesn't work
The setup is fine, so its either a kernel issue of the virtual kernel or something specific to the filesystem provided by amazon. I found some reports that quota does not work with the ubuntu virtual kernel. If amazon supports normal kernels, you should consider to switch to a standard ubuntu kernel. Btw, pleae dont repost a thread to call for falko.
Hi Till Thanks for help Sorry for Falko thread This is very bad news, because Ubuntu AMI is optimized for Amazon environment and provides many improvements... Not sure that you can run the normal kernel in Amazon or would even want to. Can I continue the ISPConfig3 setup without a functional Quota? All of my virtualhosts will be privately managed so I am not concerned about limits on disk space but I do want to make sure that users are chained to their home virtualhost directories. What do you think
You can use ispconfig without quota. The only affected functionality is the website size limit which will not work even if you set it.
the quota module is removed in the virtual kernel, check answer 1 in this link to possiblty give you hints on how to overcome this issue: http://askubuntu.com/questions/109585/quota-format-not-supported-in-kernel Regards, Peter
