problems while booting Suse 9.3

    i had a problem with my Suse 9.3
    it was tell me cant access tty:job control turned off.
    i repaired the file system and it worked out.
    but whenever i boot the partition Suse 9.3
    it does not bring the interface instead it bring the
    black interface and it asks for the root password.
    After that,i just have to go to runlevel 3 to repair the system
    the enter runlevel 5 to go to the interface.
    HOW DO I FIX THIS PROBLEM BECAUSE WHENEVER
    I BOOT Suse 9.3 IT DOES SO.
    HOPE TO HEAR FROM U SOON.
