Hi all, I installed ISPConfig with the Ubuntu 6.06 Perfect Setup. I'll try to explain this as clear as possible, since I have no freaking clue why this won't work. I have a domain, a.domain.tld that I used to install ISPConfig on. If I go to https://dev.exmaple.com:81 - ISPConfig pops up just fine. When I go to http://dev.example.com - I get the /var/www directory. Since I'm setting this server up for development work, I want to be able to access all development web sites I work on by going to http://dev.example.com/client1, http://dev.example.com/client2, etc. With a clean ISPConfig install, I first define a Reseller. Then I define a client underneath that Reseller. I then define a new site underneath that Client. I name the site dev.example.com. After hitting save, I should be able to go to http://dev.example.com and see the default Welcome! message on a new ISPconfig site install. But no - I still see the /var/www directory, which shows the directory to the site I just defined. I go into /etc/apache2/vhosts and edit the vhosts file and notice Apache has defined it properly. Apache points dev.example.com to the /var/www/web3/web directory but it still resolves to /var/www. Any ideas why this is happening? What information can I provide you folks to help me solve this? If there is an easier/better way for me doing this, I'm all ears. Thanks in advance.
The setup you want to use is not supported in ISPConfig. ISPConfig is a webhosting controlpanel that builds its own site structure for websites that can not be accessed by a central domain in the style dev.domain.cm/client1
