Hello, I have some difficulties with email forwarding in ISPConfig 3.0.5.2. I do not understand why there are two ways to forward mails. One possibility is to specify an email forward in the "email forward" menu, which does work properly on my system, when configured. But when there is an email address set up already I can not create a forward for this address. Why is that? In ISPConfig 2 you could add a forward to a mail account, and one checkbox configured if a copy of each mail should be kept on the server. The other way creating a forward is by specifying an email address in the 'send copy to' field in the Mailbox editor. The manual says: I have tried this, but the mails are not being forwarded. Also, if one adds an email forward the second way, it is not shown in the email forwards list. Everything else in the mail system is working fine. What might be the problem? Maybe this is all feature and no bug, but I just don't understand it. Could someone please explain? Thank you, regards, Tom
You can't create a forward, if the e-mail adress already exists at the server. You sould delete the e-mail box and try again.
Hello, could please someone help me to find out if this is a bug or if I am doing something wrong? When I enter an email address into the mailboxes "send copy to" field, nothing seems to happen. The "send copy field" is correctly filled out and saved to the database. But how can I control what is going wrong afterwards? Thank you, regards, Tom
The sen cipy to function owrls fin here n my servers, so its unlikely that there is a bug in that function. Most likely its a configuration issue. - Do the emails arrive in the mailbox were you set the send copy to function? - Do you use dovecot or courier on this server?
Hello Till, Quite probably, because I edited it a lot to make it suit our needs. But I have no idea what might prevent the forwarding. Yes. Dovecot Regards, Tom
Then you might want to check the sieve file created by ispconfig in the mailbox (/var/vmail/domain.tld/user/) to see if its valid or if there are any conflicts or syntax issues.
Hi Till, thank you very much, that is indeed the problem, though I can not tell the cause yet. The faulty accounts only have a .sieve file; the .sieve.svbin, .quotausage and .dovecot.lda-dupes files are missing. Deleting and recreating the account solves the problem. (Sorry I missed that; I only changed the accounts but never re-created them while testing. My bad.). Perhaps (still have to find that out) this issue occurred because the accounts were created via the remote api. It is strange also that it is possible to create mail forwards in spite of existing mail boxes as well. I will keep you updated on this. Thank you very much, regards, Tom
