I have two synchronized mail service servers and I just upgraded both Debian and ISPConfig. In one of the servers I have Debian 11 with the latest version of ISPConfig and everything works fine. In the other, with identical configuration, I upgraded to Debian 12 (with the latest version of ISPConfig too) and Postfix does not receive or deliver mail even to mailboxes on its server. I've been doing everything for three days now but I can't fix it. I also reinstalled Postfix and it seemed fine but then I reinstalled ISPConfig as well for it to regain control and it crashed again. This is the message, as an example, of one of the queued messages when I try to send: Code: F0A0295E0087 3127 Tue Aug 15 00:47:52 [email protected] (host 127.0.0.1[127.0.0.1] said: 451 4.5.0 id=39204-16 - Temporary MTA failure on relaying, From MTA() during fwd-connect (All attempts (1) failed connecting to smtp:127.0.0.1:*): id=39204-16 (in reply to end of DATA command)) [email protected] Browsing through the mail.log file I found this, if it helps: Code: 2023-08-15T01:46:26.438178+02:00 ks07 amavis[39204]: (39204-16) (!)connect to 127.0.0.1:* failed, attempt #1: Can't connect to socket 127.0.0.1:* using module IO::Socket::IP: Connection refused 2023-08-15T01:46:26.438400+02:00 ks07 amavis[39204]: (39204-16) (!)Cwefv6ClGHhN FWD from <[email protected]> -> <[email protected]>, 451 4.5.0 From MTA() during fwd-connect (All attempts (1) failed connecting to smtp:127.0.0.1:*): id=39204-16 2023-08-15T01:46:26.440840+02:00 ks07 amavis[39204]: (39204-16) Blocked MTA-BLOCKED {TempFailedInbound}, [127.0.0.1] <[email protected]> -> <[email protected]>, Message-ID: <[email protected]>, mail_id: Cwefv6ClGHhN, Hits: 2.512, size: 3119, 202 ms 2023-08-15T01:46:26.485256+02:00 ks07 postfix/lmtp[38771]: F0A0295E0087: to=<[email protected]>, relay=127.0.0.1[127.0.0.1]:10024, delay=3514, delays=3497/2.5/14/0.2, dsn=4.5.0, status=deferred (host 127.0.0.1[127.0.0.1] said: 451 4.5.0 id=39204-16 - Temporary MTA failure on relaying, From MTA() during fwd-connect (All attempts (1) failed connecting to smtp:127.0.0.1:*): id=39204-16 (in reply to end of DATA command)) Any idea is appreciated. Please run the test script and post the result: https://forum.howtoforge.com/threads/please-read-before-posting.58408/ and also post the content of /etc/postfix/master.cf file. Independant from this issue, you should consider switching from amavis to Rspamd: https://www.howtoforge.com/replacing-amavisd-with-rspamd-in-ispconfig/
Hi Till, thanks a lot for your help! I replaced the master.cf file with the one from the other server (which has Debian 11 instead of 12 and also the latest version of ISPConfig) and now Postfix seems to work. However, I ask you if you can check the result of the test and the master.cf file to see if they are OK because I saw some differences with the master.cf that I replaced and before putting the server back into production I would like to be sure everything is OK place. Ho allegato al post il risultato del test. And here is the master.cf file in use: Code: # # Postfix master process configuration file. For details on the format # of the file, see the master(5) manual page (command: "man 5 master" or # on-line: http://www.postfix.org/master.5.html). # # Do not forget to execute "postfix reload" after editing this file. # # ========================================================================== # service type private unpriv chroot wakeup maxproc command + args # (yes) (yes) (no) (never) (100) # ========================================================================== smtp inet n - y - - smtpd #smtp inet n - y - 1 postscreen #smtpd pass - - y - - smtpd #dnsblog unix - - y - 0 dnsblog #tlsproxy unix - - y - 0 tlsproxy submission inet n - y - - smtpd -o syslog_name=postfix/submission -o smtpd_tls_security_level=encrypt -o smtpd_sasl_auth_enable=yes -o smtpd_client_restrictions=permit_sasl_authenticated,reject # -o smtpd_reject_unlisted_recipient=no # -o smtpd_client_restrictions=$mua_client_restrictions # -o smtpd_helo_restrictions=$mua_helo_restrictions # -o smtpd_sender_restrictions=$mua_sender_restrictions # -o smtpd_recipient_restrictions= # -o smtpd_relay_restrictions=permit_sasl_authenticated,reject # -o milter_macro_daemon_name=ORIGINATING smtps inet n - y - - smtpd -o syslog_name=postfix/smtps -o smtpd_tls_wrappermode=yes -o smtpd_sasl_auth_enable=yes -o smtpd_client_restrictions=permit_sasl_authenticated,reject # -o smtpd_reject_unlisted_recipient=no # -o smtpd_client_restrictions=$mua_client_restrictions # -o smtpd_helo_restrictions=$mua_helo_restrictions # -o smtpd_sender_restrictions=$mua_sender_restrictions # -o smtpd_recipient_restrictions= # -o smtpd_relay_restrictions=permit_sasl_authenticated,reject # -o milter_macro_daemon_name=ORIGINATING #628 inet n - y - - qmqpd pickup unix n - y 60 1 pickup cleanup unix n - y - 0 cleanup qmgr unix n - n 300 1 qmgr #qmgr unix n - n 300 1 oqmgr tlsmgr unix - - y 1000? 1 tlsmgr rewrite unix - - y - - trivial-rewrite bounce unix - - y - 0 bounce defer unix - - y - 0 bounce trace unix - - y - 0 bounce verify unix - - y - 1 verify flush unix n - y 1000? 0 flush proxymap unix - - n - - proxymap proxywrite unix - - n - 1 proxymap smtp unix - - y - - smtp relay unix - - y - - smtp # -o smtp_helo_timeout=5 -o smtp_connect_timeout=5 showq unix n - y - - showq error unix - - y - - error retry unix - - y - - error discard unix - - y - - discard local unix - n n - - local virtual unix - n n - - virtual lmtp unix - - y - - lmtp anvil unix - - y - 1 anvil scache unix - - y - 1 scache # # ==================================================================== # Interfaces to non-Postfix software.
