    Hello,

I have recently installed a Fedora Core 7 server on my system use 'The Perfect Server' HOWTO.

    In a second step I followed http://www.howtoforge.com/virtual_hosting_with_proftpd_and_mysql_fedora7

Now when I try to start proftp it FAILS.

    output of proftpd -td5

I have used the defaults of the tutorial (except for the host/domainname)
Please bear in mind that I am all green on linux atm (hoping to learn though)

Thank you kindly for a helpful response

Could the root of the problem be that the modules needed for mysql are not loaded?

Please make sure that you put the SQL queries in one line instead of two. For example,

    Code:
    SQLNamedQuery get-quota-limit SELECT "name, quota_type, per_session, limit_type, bytes_in_avail, bytes_out_avail, bytes_xfer_avail, files_in_avail, files_out_avail, files_xfer_avail FROM ftpquotalimits
    WHERE name = '%{0}' AND quota_type = '%{1}'"
    should be

    Code:
    SQLNamedQuery get-quota-limit SELECT "name, quota_type, per_session, limit_type, bytes_in_avail, bytes_out_avail, bytes_xfer_avail, files_in_avail, files_out_avail, files_xfer_avail FROM ftpquotalimits WHERE name = '%{0}' AND quota_type = '%{1}'"

Thank you Falko indeed that solved the problem...

    Kind Regards,
