Hi all I have several client who are having problems connecting to the ftp server becuase the web editor they are using does not use passive ftp connections and have no way to turn that on.

Is there a way to set my server to non-passive mode? what affects will this have

Is there a way to use both passive and non-passive modes? I do have multiple network cards and public IP's if this makes a difference.

    Thanks
    Martin

Every FTP server supports passive and active FTP by default, you dont have to reconfigure it for that. But you may want to check if any external firewall is blocking the FTP traffic.

My apologise I think I might have been a little eger with the post, I was trying from my main office and the connection was dog slow and timed out, but I have tried it from a remote location and it all works nice and fast so that looks pretty good now. Sorry for the wasted post.

    Thanks
    Martin
