proftpd problem

I followed the HowTo for setting up Fedora with Mysql and proftpd and to be honest that appears to be working well.

When I first connected in from a client machine using a username/password from my ftpuser table the home directory was created as expected.

However... If I issue a "put filename" for a file on my client machine the file is created within the server home users folder but no data is transferred and the transfer then hangs.

On my Fedora machine the FireWall is off and I've created a router rule that forwards port 21 to my Fedora machine.

    Any suggestions?
    1) Have seen on internet about FTP needing other ports but haven't managed to translate that into settings on my router/proftpd.conf that make it work

    Thanks in advance.

Did you try both active and passive transfers in your FTP client?
