Hi, Running a multiserver setup on Debian Lenny. ISPConfig version : 3.0.3.1 I am not sure if my problem started after I updated ISPConfig or after a Debian update. My problem is that ftp users get : Code: [R] Connecting to ftp.24-timerssejlads.dk -> DNS=ftp.24-timerssejlads.dk IP=92.62.196.69 PORT=21 (attempt # 10) [R] Connected to ftp.24-timerssejlads.dk [R] 220---------- Welcome to Pure-FTPd [privsep] [TLS] ---------- [R] 220-You are user number 1 of 50 allowed. [R] 220-Local time is now 08:15. Server port: 21. [R] 220-This is a private system - No anonymous login [R] 220-IPv6 connections are also welcome on this server. [R] 220 You will be disconnected after 15 minutes of inactivity. [R] USER czgames_dkdkleader [R] 331 User XXXXXXXXXXX OK. Password required [R] PASS (hidden) [R] 530 Login authentication failed [R] Connection failed I have tried to change the password just to make sure it was a typo. In the DontResolve it says "Yes". Any ideas to tests I can do or just a solution ?
syslog Just checked syslog and I am getting this : Code: Jan 7 08:15:43 web pure-ftpd: ([email protected]) [INFO] New connection from 92.62.xxx.xx Jan 7 08:15:43 web pure-ftpd: ([email protected]) [ERROR] The SQL server seems to be down [Can't connect to MySQL server on '127.0.0.1' (111)] Jan 7 08:15:43 web pure-ftpd: ([email protected]) [INFO] PAM_RHOST enabled. It is a physical server. When I changed bind to # bind in /etc/mysql/my.cnf it seemed to remove the problem. I have an other issue related to this (both problems started at the same time). I get the following when I try to connect to the databases using phpmyadmin : Code: #2013 - Lost connection to MySQL server at 'reading initial communication packet', system error: 111
Output is now Code: web:~# netstat -tap Active Internet connections (servers and established) Proto Recv-Q Send-Q Local Address Foreign Address State PID/Program name tcp 0 0 *:9000 *:* LISTEN 9590/znc tcp 0 0 localhost:10024 *:* LISTEN 2371/amavisd (maste tcp 0 0 localhost:10025 *:* LISTEN 3054/master tcp 0 0 *:mysql *:* LISTEN 13955/mysqld tcp 0 0 db9.superweb.dk:ircd *:* LISTEN 17107/inspircd tcp 0 0 *:submission *:* LISTEN 3054/master tcp 0 0 localhost:spamd *:* LISTEN 2531/spamd.pid tcp 0 0 *:sunrpc *:* LISTEN 1985/portmap tcp 0 0 *:ftp *:* LISTEN 14139/pure-ftpd (SE tcp 0 0 localhost:ipp *:* LISTEN 2966/cupsd tcp 0 0 *:smtp *:* LISTEN 3054/master tcp 0 0 *:27 *:* LISTEN 16392/sshd tcp 0 0 *:38492 *:* LISTEN 1996/rpc.statd tcp 0 0 localhost:733 *:* LISTEN 3101/famd tcp 0 0 db9.superweb.dk:57463 92-62-196-69.custo:ircd ESTABLISHED 9590/znc tcp 0 0 db9.superweb.dk:mysql vps.superweb.dk:57648 TIME_WAIT - tcp 0 0 db9.superweb.dk:58567 83.140.172.212:ircd ESTABLISHED 9590/znc tcp 0 0 db9.superweb.dk:53837 83.140.172.212:ircd ESTABLISHED 9590/znc tcp 0 0 db9.superweb.dk:mysql ns3.superweb.dk:54417 TIME_WAIT - tcp 0 0 db9.superweb.dk:33543 db8.superweb.dk:mysql ESTABLISHED 17175/smtp tcp 0 0 db9.superweb.dk:58565 83.140.172.212:ircd ESTABLISHED 9590/znc tcp 0 0 db9.superweb.dk:mysql db2.superweb.dk:53961 TIME_WAIT - tcp 0 0 db9.superweb.dk:33541 db8.superweb.dk:mysql TIME_WAIT - tcp 0 0 db9.superweb.dk:33540 db8.superweb.dk:mysql TIME_WAIT - tcp 0 148 db9.superweb.dk:27 92-62-196-68.cust:58124 ESTABLISHED 17161/1 tcp 0 0 db9.superweb.dk:ircd 92-62-196-69.cust:57463 ESTABLISHED 17107/inspircd tcp 0 0 db9.superweb.dk:33542 db8.superweb.dk:mysql TIME_WAIT - tcp6 0 0 [::]:www [::]:* LISTEN 14123/apache2 tcp6 0 0 [::]:tproxy [::]:* LISTEN 14123/apache2 tcp6 0 0 [::]:ftp [::]:* LISTEN 14139/pure-ftpd (SE tcp6 0 0 [::]:5911 [::]:* LISTEN 16411/vino-server tcp6 0 0 localhost:ipp [::]:* LISTEN 2966/cupsd tcp6 0 0 [::]:https [::]:* LISTEN 14123/apache2 tcp6 0 0 [::]:27 [::]:* LISTEN 16392/sshd
Looks good. Please try this: http://imdad.wordpress.com/2008/11/...nitial-communication-packet-system-error-111/
[solved] Thanks for the link - it didnt directly solve my problem but made me check the my.cnf again and what I hadnt seen was that during the lastest debian apt-get update the port setting in my.cnf had been changed back to 3306 - since I have multiple servers behind a router all running mysql I had changed the ports.
