I've used this tutorial https://www.howtoforge.com/perfect-server-debian-wheezy-apache2-bind-dovecot-ispconfig-3 When I log in with root ftp user I can't upload any file to the "root" folder of a website. for example site1 is at "/var/www/clients/client1/web1". I can't write in there but I can write at "/var/www/clients/client1/web1/private". How to fix this since I guess site files should go inside "/var/www/clients/client1/web1"
No, sites files go into /var/www/clients/client1/web1/web and this folder is accessible by the FTP user.
