Thought I ask this question here. I am looking to set up a VMware Server install on Debian host with one single physical NIC. I would like to be able to create sub virtual network Interface off this one NIC like: Eth0, Eth0:1, Eth0:2, etc... And, apply/config separate subnets for each virtual Interface... Then, I want to know if I install VMware Server will it recognize and work with the virtual network interface above. And, once I create the Guess OS, I'd like to assign each Guess OS to bridge or NAT to any of the created virtual NICs/Nets residing on the Host OS. I am wondering if above is possible! Any comments/thoughts on this would be appreciated! Joe
I think you can do all this with just one network card (no virtual interfaces required). In VMware you can specify if the gust systems should use bridging or NAT.
