    Hi Forumers,

I have a dedicated server which was originally installed with Red hat enterprise edition 5.1. The problem is that the distro is not registered to use RH repository, but the server provider has a local http site (not a mirror) where rpm's and packages are located. After working a couple of days as they suggested - manually, i have no nerves anymore to struggle with the dependansies manually, so i asked them to give me another solution, they suggested to use a CentOS mirror. My question is - are RH enterprise and CentOS 100% compatible? And if i start using CentOS mirror will that harm my system in anyway?

    Thanks in advance

    Well, I don't know if it's 100%, but maybe 99%... ;)
Usually CentOS packages work fine on RHEL.

The question then will be: does anybody know how to setup CentOS repository on RHEL 5.1

    Thanks
