    Hi
I have correctly configured google apps.
What I want to know is whether I still need MTA (Mail Transfer Agent) such as Postfix OR Exim4 on my VPS ?

    Thanks in advance.

If you are not going to send or receive mail through your server than you don't need mta.

    I m using Forums phpbb; doesn't that require postfix of exim4 ?
Is it safe even then to remove MTA ?

You only need to setup postfix to send forum based emails. You can setup Postfix to relay all your mails through your ISP provider or choose localhost where server is fqdn.

I m sorry I am a beginner to understanding computer knwoledge.
Can you please briefly explain what you mean by "You can setup Postfix to relay all your mails through your ISP provider or choose localhost where server is fqdn."

From google i got FQDN = Fully qualified domain name.
ISP Providor is a VPS hosting firm. (dont want to name for security perposes)
    Mail server is google apps.
I also have a registered domain to my name.
