    Hi all,

I've been running Hardy Heron now successfully for quite a while. Lately, though, all my bookmarks in firefox have disappeared & now aMSN doesn't work. I tried repairing the pkgs but to no avail. So I thought I'd reinstall Heron. My /home folder is on it's own partition so I know my current settings will be saved.

Question is.....how DO I reinstall Heron without reformatting/wiping out my partitions? I tried just running the install CD. The partition mgr keeps forcing me to either create a new partition table ot to wipe out & redo the current partitions. I know there's a way to reinstall just the OS but can't seem to find out how.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! :)

Configuration of applications that You use is kept in /home/USER directory so You should make regular backups of that configuration in case of problems or having to reinstall the system. You can backup what is left from Your configuration now and copy it to a flash drive or cd.It would be good to first tar it.Directories with that config files start from a dot ".".You should only copy what You need. It's not necessary to copy everything.
