Relay access denied from squirrelmail

I have a problem with sending email messages with Squirrel Mail. I get the following error.
Transaction failed
Server replied: 554 5.7.1 <[email protected]>: Relay access denied

When I look at the maillog I see the the domain in the from address is "example.com" that is surely the problem but I don't know where to go to fix it. As always any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am having the same problem with squirrelmail. I've been looking over the forum but cant find my exact problem with SquirrelMail 1.4.17

I have mynetworks = 127.0.0.0/8

I am using OpenSuse 11.1 and ISPConfig 3.

I also am having problems with thunderbird. The email will send from my ispconfig email account but it is not delivered to the remote account.

Any errors in your mail log?

Did you enable "Server requires authentication" in your email client?

I am wondering if this is a problem with my att service not allowing me to send with another companies email address in the from field.

I am not sure though. If this is the case, should I sign up for mail relaying server through another company?

 

It seems as if Yahoo is having a problem with this.

 

So what should I do? What does that mean?

 

Maybe use another relay server.

 

Has anyone else had this problem with yahoo and opensuse or am I the first?
