I intend to remove postfix and bind9 totally from my ISPConfig web server as I do not use any mail or name service. I know that ISPConfig use it to send system email but I do not prefer to use postfix and I will be using a simpler msmtp. It seems to remove bind9 is possible, and ISPConfig Auto Installer also has such parameter (i.e. without installing bind9). I guess the system will be lighter though may not be better. It seems simple enough but are there anything else that I should be worry about?
Don't think the removal of bind9 has any impact. May check the general local resolve config afterwards. Personally I would not remove postfix from the system. The footprint of postfix is not that big and it is well supported and tested. Or is there any specific advantage you profit from?
Just want to maintain a lighter system. So other than removing them all, I am now using dnsmasq instead. I am not sure this is worth it though. I am also looking into implementing wireguard inside my ISPConfig home environment. Any pros and cons?
