    Hi,

My name is Guil and I am using the ISPConfig 3 web portal for configuration. I try to host my own DNS for myowndomain.com. Everything work except the PTR. I understand the concept of the PTR but I don't know how to make it work with the web portal... (dont know the steps)

I pass long time on that I cannot figured it out. Is somebody can help me on that. Maybe step by step configuration explanation by using the web portal. It will be very appreciate.

a dig @myserveurip any myplubicip.com has no anwser.

    BR
    Guil

Normally the ISP/hoster who gave you the IP address has to create the PTR for you. Please contact them.

    Hi Falko,

Thank for your anwser. Maybe you are right. I was thinking that when you have your own DNS, you could anwser to the reverse DNS.

So here is what I try to accomplish.

Godaddy account. Were I change the Name server to point to my own DNS. In this DNS creat the A, MX record, etc. Also create the PTR record.

I was thinking that if I am now the name serveur that anwser to query I could also anwser to the reverse dns query.

    Am I wrong?

    Thanks
    Guil

See my previous post. Usually your hoster/ISP hosts the PTR record for you.
