I'm running various system health notification daemons that detect trigger events and e-mail them to me at my mailserver (denyhosts, fail2ban, snmp), but the mailserver rejects them because it doesn't look like it's coming from a legit mailserver, just root@somehost, so I modified /etc/aliases so root is [email protected] (and ran newaliases to update) and the mailserver still rejects it. Is there a way on my mailserver to specifically allow all traffic from one host/IP? There will only be a few single IP boxes I want to accept mail from.
I forced mailman to accept [email protected], but now I'm getting messages from mailman that say: Message has implicit destination and then it stays in the moderator queue, I guess if I could override that I would get delivery, though 2 other nodes on the mailing list don't get delivery at all...well anyway, I'd be happy to solve this problem first.
