I followed the ISPCONFIG multi-server installation tutorial, described in this link. https://www.howtoforge.com/multiser...se-servers-on-debian-squeeze-with-ispconfig-3 I would like to know in which of the servers should I perform the roundcube installation, on the mail server or on the main web server? What do you recommend me?
In our install I have roundcube on the web server, as I didn't want to install Apache on the mail server.
Yes, you can install nginx on your mail server and use it for roundcube. In the ISPConfig server services settings, just don't enable "web" for that server and it will continue to be just a mail server for your customers (ie. they won't be able to host websites there).
