What we are trying to do is setup a nTop bandwidth monitoring server. Place this server between router and firewall. I want all LAN traffic to go through the nTop server on one NIC, and out to the router on the other NIC. Any suggestions on how I can accomplish this.

Also maybe good to know am currently running Ubuntu 9.04.

Having very bad internet issues due to traffic, need to see whats happening.

    Thanks in advance,

Question is, is there a how to out there for Dual Port NIC (eth0 & eth1) to route traffic from one (eth1) to the other (eth0)?

    Thanks in advance,
    Joe

    The Lazy way

If possible I wold drop at old HUB between the router and firewall, connect the sniffer to the HUB.
Set the sniffers nic in promisces mode at cache all trafic that way, this way "nothing" has change in your internet setup and if your sniffer crashes your internet will still be up.

I know my solution is not what you are asking for, but It would give you the same result with minimum of internet downtime and low risc.

If i remenber there are a howto on building at "sniffer" box on this site.
