    Hi,

I tried to setup a samba fileserver with swat on fedora 8. But I can't reach the server.

At the beginning I don't knwo what is meant by "a minimal Fedora 8 installation without GUI etc" so I used the setup like I did here: "Fedora 8 Server Setup: LAMP, Email, DNS, FTP, ISPConfig (a.k.a. The Perfect Server)"

Is this correct? Or did I missed something to set up.

And with edditing /etc/xinetd.d/swat, should I use the IP given at the beginning of the setup, or use another IP?

When I try to contact to the server it's like the firewall is bouncing me, but samba is set as trusted.

    Can anybody help me?

    Greetings,
    Jawis

    Hi jawis,

replace the placeholder %workstation_ip% in the howto with your workstation's IP (The computer from which you want to access the server).

    Best regards,

    Olli
