The system - a fresh installation of onieric and ISPConfig3 done by following Falko's superb "how to" and then his workaround for the SASL issues. From within the local network, mail can be sent and received normally via POP3 and SMTP and via squirrelmail. From a remote location squirrelmail and POP3 works fine, but not SMTP. Looking at mail.log shows the following Code: PLAIN authentication failed: authentication failure LOGIN authentication failed: authentication failure And yes, the client mail readers(Thunderbird) are setup properly and with the correct password. So, I'm lost. No idea where to look and what to look at. Some help here would be really appreciated folks. Thanks. Simon.
