Hi there, Can anyone create an "how to" for setting up an secure and save relay server with spam and virus filtering. This because my isp blocks port 25. But I have the possibility to use a vps server externally with no port restrictions or port blocks. I want to use the relay server with both linux and windows servers. Can anyone please create an "how to" for this? Many thanks in advance!! Cheers Chris
This tutorial is for relaying mails through another mailserver: http://www.howtoforge.com/postfix_relaying_through_another_mailserver
Thanks Falko, But I want to install a server that relays for me. And it needs to be secure and manageble. For example I can't receive e-mail on my home IP address on port 25. So I need to re-route to another port like 465, 587 or other. I also want it to scan the mail before relaying and/or hold when my home server is down for whatever reason. And set when to remove e-mail when retry/holding time is passed. So I want it to do more than just relay. I want it to: 1- recieve email for only registerd domains. 2- scan for spam and virus on e-mails 3- verify sending server by IP, mac-address or username/password. 4- relay when possible 5- hold and retry when not possible (for X time and X retries) 6- Filter on size. For example: domain example.tld can relay 5MB per massage but example.com can do 10MB per message. Thanks again. Cheers, Chris
