Can someone please explain how to properly adjust gamma/contract/brightness on my Sony laptop chad@Secured:~$ lspci | grep VGA 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Mobile 945GM/GMS/940GML Express Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 03) I ran xgamma -gamma 0.8 but it reset back to 1.0 when I restored gnome. Also, I adjusted brightness from 100% to 85% in power management, nothing changed at all. Brightness remained the same.
