Hi, I've just bought Ispconfig monitor app (android) and configured one standalone Ispconfig Server to be monitored by it. The app is working OK and I can see the status of all my services. But one thing has happened, I have installed Denyhost in my server over the SSH modified port, and a few minutes later, I have received one mail that one ip had been added to /etc/hosts.deny by Denyhost. The IP was 78.46.59.59 (v59.ensignweb.de) that is the ip of the web http://www.ispconfig. Why? Is it just a scan from your webserver? How do your server know my server? Is it the ispconfig monitor app "call home"? It may not be very important but I'm a little worried. Thanks for your reply
The ISPConfig Monitor App calls a script on v59.ensignweb.de which then checks your server and reports back to the Monitor App which then shows if your services are running or not. The Monitor App is written in HTML/Javascript/CSS, that's why it cannot do this without the help of an external server. Nothing to worry about.
Hi, Ok, that's what I thought. The banned ip was due to I configured the SSH port in the Monitor App and Denyhost detected it how a attempt to login and denied it. I will remove it from the TCP ports list. thanks
