My webs applications are sending mails, but those mails stay local. -On isp config 3, i can found every mail in the queue tab. -error tab: Code: Aug 4 16:35:11 server postfix/smtp[9320]: fatal: Ii'm guessing you changed the password of the ispconfig mysql user and now all your daemons can't log into mysql anymore. Or you made a typo .. if you can log into the ispconfig3 web admin, then f.e. check this: Code: grep db_password /usr/local/ispconfig/interface/lib/config.inc.php that's the correct password for the mysql 'ispconfig' user. Result should be somthing like this: Code: $conf['db_password'] = '<PASSWORD>'; define('DB_PASSWORD',$conf['db_password']); Now check if it's the same as the one in these files: Code: ./courier/authmysqlrc ./amavis/conf.d/50-user ./pure-ftpd/db/mysql.conf ./pam.d/smtp ./postfix/mysql-virtual_client.cf ./postfix/mysql-virtual_forwardings.cf ./postfix/mysql-virtual_relayrecipientmaps.cf~ ./postfix/mysql-virtual_sender.cf~ ./postfix/mysql-virtual_recipient.cf~ ./postfix/mysql-virtual_email2email.cf ./postfix/mysql-virtual_email2email.cf~ ./postfix/mysql-virtual_mailboxes.cf~ ./postfix/mysql-virtual_mailboxes.cf ./postfix/mysql-virtual_transports.cf~ ./postfix/mysql-virtual_domains.cf ./postfix/mysql-virtual_client.cf~ ./postfix/mysql-virtual_relaydomains.cf ./postfix/mysql-virtual_domains.cf~ ./postfix/mysql-virtual_forwardings.cf~ ./postfix/sasl/smtpd.conf ./postfix/sasl/smtpd.conf~ ./postfix/mysql-virtual_relaydomains.cf~ ./postfix/mysql-virtual_relayrecipientmaps.cf ./postfix/mysql-virtual_transports.cf ./postfix/mysql-virtual_recipient.cf ./postfix/mysql-virtual_sender.cf ./vlogger-dbi.conf you can check it if it exists in the files with this command: Code: find /etc -type f -exec grep -l '<PASSWORD>' {} \;
Code: /etc/postfix/mysql-virtual_relaydomains.cf /etc/postfix/mysql-virtual_sender.cf /etc/postfix/mysql-virtual_email2email.cf /etc/postfix/mysql-virtual_recipient.cf /etc/postfix/mysql-virtual_client.cf /etc/postfix/mysql-virtual_mailboxes.cf /etc/postfix/mysql-virtual_forwardings.cf /etc/postfix/mysql-virtual_transports.cf /etc/postfix/mysql-virtual_relayrecipientmaps.cf /etc/postfix/mysql-virtual_domains.cf /etc/amavis/conf.d/50-user /etc/vlogger-dbi.conf /etc/dovecot/dovecot-sql.conf /etc/pure-ftpd/db/mysql.conf here is the list i got. there is no "courier" subfolder, neither pam.d/smtp files. /postfix/sasl exist but is empty.
You're running dovecot, therefor did not follow the How-to to the letter! In the how-to they tell you to install courier and saslauthd, not dovecot. (see page 4: http://www.howtoforge.com/perfect-server-debian-squeeze-with-bind-and-courier-ispconfig-3-p4 ) i suggest you do the how-to again, and follow the instructions exactly as they are described in the how-to, nothing else (unless you know what you're doing)
OMG, i copy pase the wrong link. I'm really sorry. I used this tutorial: http://www.howtoforge.com/perfect-server-debian-lenny-debian-5.0-with-bind-and-dovecot-ispconfig-3
Can you check if maybe your Postfix is running chrooted (it shouldn't) - you can find that info in /etc/postfix/master.cf.

at the end: Code: mynetworks=127.0.0.0/8 it's about smtp config. i just read smth on the web that it might be a problem. But you know better on the subject. any idee where it could come from? Thank for your help anyway.
If you or someone have an idea, it would be great!!. It's a production server and this issue is costing us alot . Any help will be much appreciated. EDIT: When i check this table, it's empty. Is it supposed to?
Are the MySQL details in /etc/postfix/mysql-virtual_relaydomains.cf correct? Can you connect to MySQL on the command line if you use these details?
