An apt-get upgrade had updated mysql to 5.0.32 but hadn't updated the php libraries, so I thought I'd better upgrage ispconfig from ...15 to ...18.

The upgrade seemed to go OK, but apache2 wouldn't start because of somthing to do with SSL config files and then I discvered that my db_ispconfig table is completely empty.

I've got apache running, but only html works. the browser asks what to do with php files. So it looks like php is broken

This is a major crisis. Please can someone suggest something?

    it gets worse!

Seems that the db_ispconfig database wasn't backed up.

Is there a way to recreate it from the files it generated?

    Anyone able to help?

I can wait to get ispconfig working again, but I need to get apache2 working properly. Right now the user is asked whether they want to open or save php files. I really need to get that sorted ASAP. Is there anyone who can suggest anything?

This topic is solved now. There was a backup of the mysql DB in /tmp created by the ISPConfig update script.

For anyone else who finds themselves in such a pickle, the thing to do is to email Till's support email address. He sorted the problem in no time.

    Many thanks to him.
