I finally got everything installed with perfect server fedora 9 tutorial. After several attempts, I was fortunate enough to catch the '/etc/shell script and edit it. On reboot I now have an added account; Admin ISPConfig; however I do not recall having to set the password for this one. I did check the ISPConfig page on sourforge and tried the admin admin that they mention there with no luck. I was wondering is there a way to rest this password or a file I missed that I need to edit? I am not really to sure how I should go about setting this up. I want to use it as our companies webserver, email server, I also want to have it set up to where if I need to do something from the house I don't have to leave, I can just remote into this machine and do what I need to do. With the email do I just need to configure the email clients to use the specified ports for imap or pop3? Also this may sound stupid but, how can I make sure that this is going to show up as the host name that I specified 'ns1tech.yadda.com' I know that it shows thats what the host name is when i run hostname in the CLI but how can I make sure that the outside world will see that so they can get to it and access our website. I apologize for the long drawn out question. I just want to make sure I am doing this right.
Did you try admin:admin for the ISPConfig login, or on the shell? Yes. For sending email you must enable "Server requires authentication" in your email client. You must set up an A record for ns1tech.yadda.com which must point to your server. Most likely you can do this in your domain registrar's web interface.
