Hello, here is the situation: i have a very old server which was used for testing, it has debian sarge and a very old dev release of ispconfig. Unfortunately i have some sites (40-50) on it that we choose to stay there after testing. the question is: can i smoothly change the apt sources then update to etch and then install a stable branch of ispconfig? Will it work that way or should i expect problems? Thanks!
It should work this way but you might always get a problem. So its good to make a backup of at least /var/lib/mysql, /etc/, the ispconfig document root (/var/www or /home/www) and /var/mail to be able to restore the ispconfig installation in case something goes totally wrong. After you updated ispconfig you should copmpare the sasl configuration on your server with the sasl config from the perfect setup, some options have been changed / renamed in the file.
Everything passed without problems (at least, not known), except - when i login to ispconfig - under tools menu the left side is black and not showing the normal things, how do i fix that, as far as i remember it was something with the ioncube loader... Thanks!
noticed another problem in the Management menu - Settings - everything is wrong and i can not change it - example IP address: 0.0.0.0 the sites are working so far, but when i click on a site - there is no domain or server
i have fixed the black field, any ideas how can i fix the blank fields? Management/Server/Settings and all the websites properties are blank is seems like something with the database connection is stinky any ideas thanks!
Please check if the database credentials in /home/admispconfig/ispconfig/lib/config.inc.php are correct. Also check if there are any errors in the error log in /root/ispconfig/httpd/log.
