Server Upgrades caused some sites to stop responding

I have two sites running off the same IP and after I updated the base OS to a more secure version they are both ending up at the same directory. I have searched through all the config files I can think of and I cannot find the issue. None of these files have changed. Any idea how I can get this system pointing properly again?

Check the website settings in ispconfig: Set botb sites to * in the IPv4 field or to the IP address, don't mix * and IP. And if you use SSL, take care to enable SSL for both sites.

Okay so upon looking through it further, I made some tweaks, but now it is not working correctly again.
I changed the main IP that the system was pointing to (I have 2 IP addresses on the one server) and now it is pointing to the other system. I cannot get the site to point to itself. is this a time I have to delete the old set up and migrate the setup over to a new folder?

I believe I have fixed that issue. But now when I finish the setup on the site, I am getting Error 500. thoughts?

Have a look into the error.log of the affected website.

okay this is just going from strange to stranger.
one minute the site is pointing to the right folder, the next it is not. What is happening here...

Might be a problem with your dns. check dns records with intodns.com, might be that not all dns servers point to the right IP address.

everything looks good on this end. it is just the folders that it is pointing to that is the issue here. it seems to be jumping to different folders within the system.

This can not happen unless you change settings, so DNS is the most likely explanation. Try to change all websites to * in the Ipv4 field of the site.

my issue is I do not have a single site set to *. they are all IP targeted. The reason being is I run this to host multiple server locations. I have 2 servers that I run off this one hosting.
I totally agree with you that this should not be happening without changes in the settings, but it is happening. DNS is all looking correct. Propagation looks proper, but I will give it another day to let the dust settle a bit more and see what is happening on the DNS side of things.
However, I do not think this is the main issue, because it is pointing to a file I cannot find on ANY of my servers now, when a few hours ago, it was pointing to the file I had setup as a front page until I get the back end of the websites system fixed.
I will post again if it does not sort out by tomorrow.
