I am setting up a server with Ubuntu 6.10 Server edition (following this tutorial) but I have a router. I am not sure if this will pose a problem, but rather than bash my head, I thought I would ask here instead.

Does anyone know if this is a problem and if so, what is the solution? Thanks

I do the same thing. Just login to your router and "port forward" the ports that you need to the IP address of your server.

    I forward the following ports:

    22 SSH
    25 SMTP
    80 Apache
    110 Pop3
