    Hey everyone :D

We are currently running qmail as our MTA, however I would like to switch over to postfix. I'm finding qmail too complicated :/

First tho, I would like to setup a test mail server so that I can confidently set one up and then do my migration to the new server.

My question is whats the best way to go about doing this?

I have a machine I can use as a test mail server, and I was going to use independent.local as a test domain to setup mail for, But with no local dns server hosting independent.local and thus no MX record how will this work?

    Thanks!

Makes sense. But I still have one more question.

From my windows machine, I send a test email using outlook to [email protected]l.

I don't require a MX record for that domain simply because its a local delivery for the SMTP server ?
