    Hi all,

i know you are probably sick of these types of questions!

i have just installed ubuntu 6.06 server and set up using the perfect howto server guide then installed ispconfig.

    everything is working well

    i have one silly question.

when i log in and make a new website for one of my mates it all works fine

the questions is where can i get to that site for me to point his DNS at?

so for example i have a ispconfig server at 192.168.1.100
i have created him a website called websitetest
surely to get to his site it will be something like 192.168.1.100/websitetest??

    thanks for the help

    sorry for being so dumb!

ISPConfig uses name based vhosts. You will have to assign a real domain to the site and set the IP address of this domain to your server IP. Then access the website by the domain name.

Websites in ISPConfig can not be accessed by IP.
